Being a cabinet member for the Environment at Surrey County Council basically means directing the policy and working to ensure the delivery of that policy on the ground. It also importantly means making sure I am out across all of our land and property to hear what key stakeholders and residents have to say and to ensure we are getting it right.
This is what a typical day looks like in this role and it covers a huge part of Surrey with a particular focus on protecting the countryside, increasing biodiversity and preventing flooding. Do ask me any questions and if you have a keen interest in the environment let me know and I will get you more information on what we do at Surrey County Council.
