We have to listen to what young families and key workers are saying. We need these people in our community working as police, nurses, social workers, teachers and starting their own businesses. Without them our high streets will continue to decline, and we will lack the support needed for our older residents. I have a mortgage, which means I am fortunate enough to own a property, and that gives me stability.
I want other young families to have the same and invest in Dorking & Horley. But the thing which makes this constituency special is our countryside and Green Belt. So the challenge is how do we build homes and protect the green belt? I don’t profess to have all of the answers but I have some thoughts and am keen to develop that thinking with input from others. I see this is one of the top issues is solve in Dorking & Horley.
