Marisa spoke to James Cannon about the latest data on Surrey's waste and recycling collection. She discussed how Surrey has become a lead county with over 50% of waste going to recycling, how the waste teams have really delivered some excellent improvements campaigns and how nearly 90% of our waste stays in the UK to be used as waste to energy or recycled. Marisa made the point that whether people are concerned about recycling or not, the key issue is that it costs millions of taxpayers money to deal with waste and by driving level down or recycling we can turn that around and use the money for other services.
