My invitation to a church service to do a reading made me think about the role of faith, the value of being free and why community gatherings are so important. It also made me remember some of the positive things about this country, which we can sometimes forget when we struggle with issues like the NHS and economic slowdown. I have visited some of the churches in Dorking and Horley over the last few weeks, and we are very lucky to have such beautiful places of worship in the villages. I support community action and initiatives to maintain our churches and unite people.
